PALETTE
Corian® is a solid, non-porous and homogeneous material, composed of approximately one-third acrylic resin (polymethyl methacrylate or PMMA) and two-thirds natural minerals. Its primary mineral component is aluminium trihydrate (ATH), derived from bauxite, the raw material used to produce aluminium. HYGIENIC: Corian® is a non-porous material. It is compact throughout and can be manufactured with imperceptible joints, ensuring a highly hygienic surface. Its surfaces do not promote the growth of bacteria and fungi.
NON-TOXIC: Under normal temperature conditions, it does not release gases. When it burns, it primarily emits carbon oxides, and the resulting smoke is light and free from toxic halogenated gases. Thanks to these properties, Corian® is widely used in public spaces and sensitive environments, such as airport check-in counters, walls and work counters in hospitals and hotels.
REPAIRABLE: The surfaces are fully renewable, meaning they can be completely restored using mild abrasive cleaners and an abrasive sponge. For instance, cigarette burns can be easily removed this way. Even damage caused by improper use can typically be repaired on-site without needing a full replacement. SOLID: Both colours and textures are consistent throughout the entire thickness of the material, making them resistant to wear. Corian® is a solid material that does not delaminate.
IMPERCEPTIBLE JOINTS: The only limit to Corian® is imagination. The ability to create virtually seamless bonding and continuous surfaces with imperceptible joints unlocks limitless design possibilities. Long countertops can be fabricated, for example, in sections at the factory and then assembled on site to form a continuous surface. Edges can be designed to appear thicker. WORKABLE LIKE WOOD: Corian® can be processed using the same tools as those used for woodworking. In fact, most workshops that fabricate Corian® originally operated as joineries or carpentry shops.
ECO-FRIENDLY: Corian® is manufactured in compliance with strict regulations aimed at minimising waste and energy consumption throughout the entire production process. The material, along with the adhesives and sealants used for installation, emits low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and has earned the GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified® accreditation.
