Franco Driusso
Franco
Driusso
Franco Driusso’s style approach is an oxymoron as his guiding principle is “complex simplicity.” His long creative career has been directed by turning this dualism into a harmonious balance that gives shape to objects and spaces. Driusso is an architect with a master’s degree in industrial design who has made his name in the Italian design world through this unique vision. He aims to design products that are functional and easy to use with clean, exacting visuals, always using technology and innovation to their highest levels. The results are designs of simple expressive language and powerful meanings. His design approach is reflected both in his projects for his Driusso Associati studio, co-founded with his brother Roberto in Mestre (Venice), and in his artistic direction of Arrital, with which he has long collaborated.
Driusso has made many of his most iconic kitchens for Arrital, as well as many innovations: such as the Ak_07 and AkB_08 (Compasso d’Oro ADI 2018 Honourable Mention), system which was listed in the 2017 ADI Design Index selection, the Nautila kitchen, awarded the Good Design Award 2022, iF Design Award 2023 and Big See Award 2023, and the Feeling Home project and Ak_Project. “My relationship with Arrital has grown over time and an excellent rapport has been created with the whole team. This company is dynamic, even when tackling new adventures, always keeping interest and strong engagement. This is inspiring, especially for those who deal with creativity,” Driusso says. He is also directly involved in the new Arrital Showcase in Milan, having designed its exhibition layout and all the compositions, echoing the emotional impact of the brand’s identity.
