CASA IOLASCON | AK_PROJECT
Naples, Italy
PROJECT
Casa Iolascon is in the heart of San Lorenzo neighborhood, one of the oldest and most authentic neighborhoods of Naples.
The project was conceived with the intention of discreetly and coherently integrating into the historic context of the building where it is housed. It reflects a deep respect for the architectural memory of the place, while embracing a contemporary language that engages with the vibrant city.

The project listens to and interprets the most intimate desires, delivering a space that reflects not only practical needs but above all identity, stories, and roots.
Two objects become the thread running through the domestic story: the mother’s sewing machine, a diligent and affectionate memory; and the father’s grand book collection, a universe of words that continues to pulse through the rooms.

The Ak_Project Island by Arrital connects the living and sleeping areas. The kitchen extension has allowed the creation of a more hidden operational zone, accessible through the splendid arches, which represent the fil rouge of the entire home.
The finishes chosen for the island are brushed Natural Oak , and Mandorla Sand lacquered on the linear section. They combine with the marine tones of the staircase, giving a unique and embracing character to the environment.

The simplicity of the kitchen composition is the same as that found in the study, located at the entrance of the home, completely hidden by custom cabinetry.
The room houses the symbols of the family., the sewing machine and the bookcase, discreetly integrating them into the domestic setting.

The living area opens onto expansive glass windows, bathed in natural light that touches and frames the equestrian sculpture by Mimmo Paladino, seen from the terrace of the Museo Madre.
A refined sea-green ceiling blends with oak finishes, defining the spaces with sober elegance and creating a bespoke project for the clients, which achieves a distinctive balance between refinement and intimacy.
