The project AKB_08 (ARRITAL – KITCHEN SYSTEM) wins

Architect Franco Driusso was awarded the prestigious Regula 2017 award for the design of AKB_08, on the 4th of May. The award is a symbolic recognition that has been awarded to five projects and five companies among those published in the volume edited by Riccardo Dell’Anna Editore, 100 Progetti Italiani (100 Italian Projects).

The publishing house has long been pursuing the mission of promoting ‘Italianness’ through high-quality publications, and this year the fil rouge has been the world of architecture. For the interior design category, the model AKB_08 Arrital was awarded, designed by Architect Driusso in collaboration with chef Andrea Berton for Arrital.

The exclusive project intends to bring to the domestic environment the features of professional kitchens, enriched by contemporary design. For the first time, a domestic kitchen is designed and created to meet the needs of efficiency and functionality of a high-cuisine professional, without sacrificing that cleanliness of the shapes and that compositional elegance characteristic of Arrital’s design. Appliances and organization of spaces, accessories and materials are carefully chosen as a synthesis of the attentive look of the chef and the designer, who shared every single stage of the design, each one offering their own valuable and unique creative contribution.

The ideal setting for presenting this work of contemporary architecture could only be the National Academy of San Luca, point of reference par excellence for every artist of beauty since the 1500s. For this remarkable occasion, architects, designers, academics, and illustrious guests came together in the Salone d’Onore (Hall of Honour).

The prestigious event has received the patronage of: the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, the Ministry of the Environment and the Protection of the Territory and the Sea, the National Council of Architects Planners Landscape Designers and Curators, FederlegnoArredo, Politecnico di Milano, Università Sapienza di Roma, National Academy of San Luca.
