‘Design in Bloom – Composing Beauty using Ikebana’
Flower arrangement and exclusive event in collaboration with Elisabetta Moavero and Ekaterina De Andreis.
During Milan Green Week, from 26 to 29 September, Arrital’s new showcase will transform into a meeting place of art, nature and design. The event, entitled ‘Design in Bloom – Composing Beauty using Ikebana’ and in collaboration with Elisabeth Moavero, ikebana expert, and Ekaterina De Andreis, ceramic artist, will not just be a floral arrangement but a celebration of the perfect blend of interior design and environmental sustainability. The location will be open to the public on every day of Green Week, offering a truly unique opportunity to all those that wish to immerse themselves in this magical fusion of artistic beauty, sustainable innovation and design.
The new Arrital showcase in Milan takes the form of a transformable stage, created to form continuous connections between people, ideas and nature. The space is not just an example of architectural innovation but also includes a suspended urban vegetable garden, tangible example of the integration of sustainability in design.
During Milan Green Week, an event designed to promote environmental awareness and sustainable design, Arrital’s Milanese showcase opposite Piazza San Babila will present visitors with the ‘Design in bloom – Composing Beauty using Ikebana’ floral arrangement. This initiative aims to celebrate the beauty of nature through art and design, blending aesthetics and environmental values in a unique sensory experience.
In fact, Ikebana is an ancient ritual involving the creation of flower arrangements using cut flowers and particular vases. Japanese in origin, this practice helps engender a sense of calm and serenity, with ourselves and with the world around us. Based on balance and harmony, it helps you to relax and forget about your daily cares.
As well as attracting the attention, Arrital also wants to encourage reflection on how interior design can evolve and cultivate continuous connections not only with the physical elements of a space but also between people and the natural world.

This approach minimises the waste of natural materials and promotes the informed use of resources. Following the rhythm of the seasons, ikebana prioritises the use of local plants and flowers, reducing the environmental impact connected with transportation and forming a deeper connection with the natural cycle of the seasons.
