Another Recognition at the Big See Product Design Award 2023″
A new prestigious international recognition for Arrital: Nautila, the kitchen that revolutionizes the concept of space (designed by Franco Driusso), has won the Big See Product Design Award 2023 in the Product Design category “Kitchen.” This award further strengthens the excellence in product design and emphasizes the innovation and extraordinary aesthetics that characterize Nautila.
The “Big See Award” is a design and architecture competition that celebrates creative talent in Southeastern Europe. This award recognizes exceptional projects in various fields, including design, architecture, interior design, fashion, and other creative sectors. It is an initiative aimed at highlighting the high quality of design and architecture in the region, promoting the most talented designers and architects working in this area, and showcasing their creative strength by awarding more than 2,000 projects from 21 countries. These projects highlight the culture of innovation and collaboration.
The ceremony took place at the Academy of Music in the center of Ljubljana, where designer Franco Driusso had the opportunity to present the concept of the entire project. “I am deeply honored,” the designer says, “to have received this prestigious award and to have been able to share the conceptual, design, and construction details of Nautila with an international audience. With Nautila, Arrital’s furnishing proposal goes beyond the concept of a kitchen environment and becomes part of the architectural context, employing an extraordinarily innovative approach.

The Nautila kitchen system, with its rational, material, and elegant essence, draws inspiration from the perfection of a “noble oceanic architecture” represented by the shell of the Nautilus mollusk, known for its affinity with the golden section, the mathematical language of beauty and absolute design.
The “Big See Award” joins the awards that Nautila has received so far. In 2022, the kitchen system received the GOOD DESIGN® Award 2022, and in 2023, the IF Design Award 2023, two awards presented annually by The Chicago Athenaeum, Museum of Architecture and Design, and The European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design, and Urban Studies, and by the iF International Forum Design GmbH, a German-based design organization. These awards confirm Nautila’s prominent role among the most innovative and cutting-edge kitchens.
